We are working to eliminate traffic jams that cause various disadvantages and improve people's lives.
We are students of Seibu Gakuen Bunri High School. We are conducting activities with the theme of solving problems in Sayama City (Saitama Prefecture). Have you ever thought deeply about traffic congestion? In fact, traffic congestion is not only stressful, but also causes various disadvantages We are working mainly in Sayama City (Saitama Prefecture) in order to solve such problems as much as possible.

What kind of city is Sayama City?
Sayama City is a city located in the southwestern part of Saitama Prefecture, with a population of approximately 150,000. It is rich in nature and has many large parks such as Inariyama Park and Irumagawa Nico Nico Terrace. In recent years, we have been providing a variety of childcare support in response to the city's declining birthrate. Two Seibu Railway lines and National Route 16 run through the city, and it is home to some of the largest distribution centers and factories in Saitama Prefecture. In 2012, the Seibu Shinjuku Line Sayamashi Station West Exit area redevelopment project was completed.
Project details
We are continuing our activities to eliminate and alleviate traffic congestion that occurs in Sayama City. Traffic congestion causes various problems in the area.
Therefore, in order to eliminate and alleviate traffic congestion,
we created a report requesting the installation of Melody Road and the adjustment of the green signal switching time and right turn signal time, and submitted it to Sayama City Hall and Police Station, requesting improvements.
In addition, this website will introduce measures to alleviate traffic congestion nationwide and the mechanisms (principles) of traffic congestion, and will inform drivers about these measures, leading to alleviation of traffic congestion. We will eliminate such traffic congestion in Sayama City and improve the economy, environment, and lifestyle.

Irumagawa Niconico Terrace is located in Riverbed Central Park along the Irumagawa River, and there is a large cafe nearby.
This park is open to anyone and is perfect for daily walks, relaxation, rehabilitation, and walking animals. There are playground equipment on the vast grounds, and large-scale events are held at certain times of the year. Please come and visit!

Sayama tea is a Japanese tea produced mainly in the western part of Saitama Prefecture and the Nishitama area of Tokyo. There are many ways to use Sayama tea (how to drink it, etc.), and a senior at our school was promoting bath salts made from discarded Sayama tea leaves! Please give it a try!

Iruma River is a very large river that symbolizes the nature of Sayama City. There are large parks (squares) such as Nico Nico Terrace around the Irumagawa River. There are bridges that cross this river, such as the Irumagawa Ohashi Bridge, and as there are only a limited number of bridges, traffic jams tend to occur.

As you all know, National Route 16 is a major road connecting so-called ``commuter towns'' in the Kanto region. It is a busy road where many trucks and cars pass by, making it prone to traffic jams.

Information gathering
Information on traffic congestion is collected in the following two ways.
・Collect information on traffic congestion mechanisms, etc. on the Internet.
・During fieldwork, we conducted interviews at police stations and city halls to learn about the characteristics and countermeasures for traffic congestion that occurs in Sayama City.
We have summarized the collected information in an easy-to-understand manner.
Devise solutions based on information
From the information collected, we found that in Sayama City, congestion is likely to occur on major roads (National Route 16), bridges across rivers, and roads near interchanges .Based on this information, we devised a solution based on congestion mitigation measures implemented in other prefectures.
Analysis of traffic jam locations/questionnaire regarding traffic jams
The survey is currently in progress! Please wait for a while for the survey results and analysis. We use these analyzes to evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions we come up with. When analyzing areas where congestion occurs, we investigate things such as signal switching intervals and traffic volume.

Compile a report and request improvements from city hall and police stations We believe that it would be difficult for individuals or small groups to alleviate traffic congestion, so we would like to submit the report (opinion) we created to Sayama City Hall and Police Station for improvement and consideration . I would also like to make presentations as needed.
